“Husker Peg” retires from HunTel

On Wed, Feb 11^th, Peg Wright retired after 17 years as the always attentive ‘voice of HunTel Communications’.

 

Peg’s career began at Ma-Bell as a phone operator, which allowed her to one day travel to Omaha where she decided to make her home. 

 

After many years with the phone company, Peg took an early retirement and found her second career here at HCI where she has been a fixture ever since.

 

“I really lucked out because this was the prefect job for me after my experience with Bell”, said Peg.  And so it was for HCI as well.

 

Peg’s love of the huskers is some of her ‘lore’ as she was eventually donned by one of the employees as “Husker Peg”; a moniker that not only stuck with her but became how many of our clients and customers have come to know her as well. 

 

She is still a Husker booster and enthusiast and we will miss her grace and enduring passion for the customer.  Thank you Peg for a great “second career”!
